The Truth No one Wants To Hear
by maccauk11 inthe truth about messiah and what he acheived in the 1st century is something millions of believers in christ refuse to accept namely the historical record of things all fulfilled in that momentous 1st century.it is rejected because the -isms, man made doctrines, theologies, false teachings etc etc that abound since then and so millions have allowed themselves to be brainwashed, conditioned into.
the reality is so simple if one lets messiah remain with his intent and meaning.
but if we change his own words, we become divided.

Fascinating.
Most won't watch the whole thing but they should. Anyone who does watch will be smarter and more knowledgable than those who chose not to....Thank you for posting.

The eldaaaars again!!
by ILoveTTATT inafter two months of not coming to my house, today about two hours ago, one of the elders that came two months ago came to my house.
he was in serve-us with other brothers from the spanish cong and came into my house with a friend of mine (not another elder).
he said he wanted to talk to me, and he said it in front of my mom and my dad (both were there).. what was interesting is that it seems like it will be a one-on-one for half-hour.

Sorry, but to me, the lie, lie, lie approach is the single worst solution I can think of. By doing so one remains the effect and not the cause. That is not a reciepe for success in any area of life. That said, I do understand not everyone is as strong willed as I am. That's a real shame. I've just been lucky enough I guess to always believe that the biggest fear in life is not living the life I want on my terms. It makes doing those things I need to do to insure that outcome rather simple. I find it also makes life less complicated which in turn makes it easier to get where I'm going. Don't have much time for pussy footing around.

Three choices..
1. Keep running like a coward and don't meet
2. Just admit to yourself that you don't deserve a better life because you're not mature enough to confront the issue and as such you're better off being part of a cult because the real world isn't for you.
3. Meet him but take total control of the conversation and do all the talking and just lay it out in no uncertain terms that you have zero interest in being a JW and that he's wasting his time persuing you. Then thank him for coming, pay the tab, and leave.

I need help in dealing with a toxic family member!!!!
by hoser ini have a close family member who is a pro in using shame to try to make me feel bad.
they are coming to stay at my place soon and the issue of me and mrs hoser not attending/ doing field service will come up no doubt.. i need some advice on how to deal with this because whenever i deal with these relatives they make me feel worthless.
it is probably part because they are jw's and jw's motivate by fear and guilt.. .

My advice is to start acting/thinking more maturely. No one is 'toxic" unless you allow them to be so. The only thing you will ever have complete control of during your lifetime is your thoughts. No one can force you to to feel shame unless you allow them.
I'm going to sound harsh, but this is the same thing I tell my kids (12 and 15) when they have issue's with friends. Stop acting like a powerless little child and take personal responsibilty for your life. Stiop blaming other people for making you feel wothless. It's not them who has a problem it's YOU. If you don't want to feel worthless, then don't! It has nothing to do wth them being a JW. You either allow them to have power over you or you don't. It really is that simple.
On top of that, YOU created this problem when you agreed to let them stay with you. Why would you allow someone to stay in your home knowing what you posted? That's insane. Sounds to me like you were motivated by the same fear you accuse them of casting on you. You were afraid to say no. Now you're in fear of them finding out the truth. The truth about how you really feel. Think about that. You're afraid of someone knowing your true feeligs because they may not like you afterwards. And what you're really asking for here is advice on how to lie to them so that you can play both sides of the game. I suggest instead of looking for creative ways to be a liar you should start behaving like an honest adult. If you can't do that then it's your fault not your relatives if you feel bad about yourself.

Seems the org have got this wrong as well..
by Dis-Member inchina to become new world superpower... http://money.cnn.com/2013/07/18/news/economy/china-us-superpower/.
will china supplant the united states as the world's leading superpower and top player in the world economy?a new pew research center survey of 38,000 people in 39 countries found the widespread belief that china is well on its way.. overall, a majority or plurality of respondents in only six of the countries surveyed believe the u.s. will remain on top.. "publics around the world believe the global balance of power is shifting," pew wrote.
"china's economic power is on the rise, and many think it will eventually supplant the united states as the world's dominant superpower.".

As of now, The US economy is twice the size of China's..roughly 16 trillion to 8 trillion. It has been forecast for some time that China will take the lead somewhere around 2020.

marriage without affection/sex/touching
by zeb inyes thats my situation.
some where along the path of life the wt guilt trip was dumped on our marriage and we havent had sex for years.. anyone else?
the hearts and flowers and gifts and doing the cleaning, the house work and paying the daily accounts never being drunk on drugs playing the horses or screwing others yep its all there but nothing coming back due to the wt guilt trip.. they made so much of 'oral sex' and 'pornea' incorrectly quoted at that and ventured thereby into areas they were patently very ill equipped to comment on.

Not normal at all in the sense of a good relationship, but I suspect that it's not unusual for couples regardless of religion to have issues which carry over into their sex lives. I'm lucky I suppose in that my wife( a born in who never believed) had a sex drive I wasn't sure I could keep up with. At 50 that hasn't really changed but if her JW parents had any idea of some of the things we do I think they would vomit...lol!
However, I also know that according to my wife some of her friends are quite jealous of our situation. It seems that a lot of men, for whatever reason, lose their drive along the way.
Personally, I couldn't begin to imagine a marriage that didn't involve two people willing to do whatever it took to fullfil the sexual desires of each other. I also couldn't imagine being with a women who didn't shock me (in a good way:) someyimes. And one last thing....DON'T turn off the lights for crying out loud!!

I mentioned the Candace Conti court case in a letter to a JW
by Xanthippe inso as i've written about this before.
an old friend of my late husband's suddenly contacted me out of the blue after over twenty years of shunning and we started writing.
i didn't know why she contacted me but i thought perhaps something had happened in the organisation to make her think, which is why i came on this forum in the first place.. she kept talking about her religion and basically 'witnessing' to me and i replied with just how long are we supposed to wait when it's been nearly 100 years since christ came into his kingdom.

My FIL does the exact same thing. He'll go off bat shit crazy, making all sorts of wild statements and then when confronted with the truth he'll go silent and never bring up the subject again. Once on the subject of the global economy collasping he litteraly covered is ears and began humming as he raced out the front door. I shit you not...lol

Fact check: Suicide IS NOT the leading cause of death in the US for people age 10 to 50. It is the 2nd leading cause in 15-24 yr olds behind car wrecks though.
http://www.worldlifeexpectancy.com/usa-cause-of-death-by-age-and-gender
Just for fun I'm going to send that war graph above to my FIL just to fuck with his head..lol
edit...need to fact check myself...suicide is 3rd in the 15-24 group behind posioning and homicides. Hmmm, I would have never guessed posioning.

The packages will arrive today... What do you think will happen?
by Faithful Witness ini have decided that ignoring my niece and nephew during the holidays, is the most unloving thing i could possibly do.
they stopped celebrating christmas and birthdays, after my sister began studying with jw's about 6-7 years ago.
we did not celebrate either, until 3 years ago, when my son was 2 and my daughter was 4, and we'd figured out that the jw's are wrong about this decision.
-
Oh Gawd
The fact that you don't know how they'll react is ine of weirdest parts of this religion. It seems every JW as their own code of rules.
My in-laws never celebrated xmas or birthdays, but they would just happen to give gifts around that time. Same with their grand kids(mine). It's never a xmas present but they'll get some sort of gifts...probably the week after xmas.
Funny story...My son (11) once poclaimed if he didn't get his way, on whatever it was he was insisting upon that day, he was going to go live with grandma and grandpa. I go, if you go live with them you won't get xmas. He says, with a smile, sooo? I don't care, they'll still buy me presents...we'll just call it Bryce's present day..LOL!
